My son's obsession with Singin' in the Rain

Carson found the movie, Singin' in the Rain, on our shelf in Nashville. Intrigued by the cover he asked, "rain?" We watched it, and so it began...

If he ever saw the case of the movie or an umbrella after that he would get excited and ask, "singin' in the rain?" With umbrellas, he would not be satisfied until we opened it and sang for him. Luckily, our (somewhat terrible) reenactments stopped when Taylor decided to pull up the clips on youtube, but that led to Carson asking to watch "make 'em laugh" anytime he saw a computer.

Highlights:

He also asks to watch "Moses," "Singin' in the rain," and "Good morning." All classics and some awesome dancing. Don't worry, we don't grant every request he makes :)

We actually think it's really cute how much he loves it. He asks us to sing the songs a lot, and it's so fun especially now that he's learned some of the lyrics and sings along.

It takes him a while to get to a song in this one, but I had to leave his funny face at the beginning.

Today we decided to go on a walk in the rain and found out he knows the choreography in addition to the lyrics. So fun.

Gotta get to the end on this one.

He uses the umbrella like a prop rather than a rain shield. Just like Gene Kelly :)

Cutest boy ever.

Beach trip!

I want to tell you about our vacation! As a little side note first, we moved to Atlanta. It's been a long time coming and is probably old news by now. We bought memberships to the aquarium (with guest passes, so come visit!) on our second day here and we have loved it! Here are a few pictures:
So cute.

"See the fish?"

Sea dragon. How did I not know these existed? Sorry it's not a great picture, but they are so cool.

We also got to go to the aquarium to kick start our vacation when my parents and David, Jessica, and Eli came, but I don't have any pictures...

However, I do have this picture of my mom being surprised because she didn't know David and his family would be here in town when they got here. Priceless.

I also haven't gotten our vacation pictures from my dad who was usually the one with the camera, but I couldn't wait to blog about it so I'll add some pictures later. Man, it was such a great vacation. After going to the aquarium and lunch on Monday, we headed out to South Carolina. We spent all day Tuesday enjoying Hilton Head Island. I think it's the nicest beach I've been to.  The water was warm, the waves small (how I like them), the sand clean, and we found so many sand dollars! Here are some pictures:

Carson LOVED playing in the sand. Pretty nice hotel behind him too, eh? Thanks, Dad.

Grandma and Grandpa taking him out to catch some waves.

Carson's a little too busy building the sandcastle to stop for a picture.

After Tuesday and a little shopping Wednesday morning at some outlet stores we found, we headed down to Florida to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. That was another beautiful beach, a lot like the first except instead of sand dollars, we found tons of shells! We also joined a couple locals for some volleyball. I couldn't resist.

The next day, we checked out of our hotel and stopped at Fort Clinch before driving the rest of the way to Daytona Beach. We stayed at the nicest timeshare I've been to, I felt really spoiled. And, this story is becoming familiar...we went to the beach! Daytona beach was nice too and had big enough waves to boogie board a little. The resort also had a few pools and a lazy river which we took advantage of, of course.

Throughout the trip we found fun places to eat, Sloppy Joes, 29 South eats, Bubba Gump's, and Longhorn Steakhouse, to name a few. We also watched a bunch of tennis (US Open) and a broncos game on tv. Overall, it was just so relaxing hanging out with my parents and lounging around on the beach, we were very sad for the week to end. I am so grateful to my parents for coming out and creating some fun memories with us! Ever since our vacation ended, Carson's favorite phrases have been, "play in the water, play in the sand, build sandcastle, vacation, fun day, bucket, grandma, grandpa, fun beach." In any or no order and mostly in a slur like that. :)

Since our vacation had to end, we're on to the next adventure! We watched a great BYU game on Saturday, Taylor found out he passed the last of his 4 CPA tests (making him 6/6 on his CPA and CFA tests!), and he started work on Monday. So if I ever get our house unpacked, we'll be all set!
